Visual & Ceramics Artist, Curator, Barcelona

Transforming feelings and emotions into art

Alona History & Studio

2019 – 2022

From Riga to Barcelona

Born in Riga, Latvia, Alona started drawing in early childhood but for the long time it was just a hobby that helped her to transform her feelings into art. She moved to Barcelona in 2019, after settling in, in 2022 she began to discover local art and music scene. In 2022 she founded community for creators.

2022 – 2026

Building a Dual Practice

In 2022 she started to work more on oil paintings and discovered ceramics. Each ceramics piece is hand-formed and often sold directly to people. In parallel, she continued developing her oil painting skills -  works on canvas that can take more than a year to finish. Both crafts share one studio and one voice - a voice that returns again and again to inner life, to complex feelings.

2026

From Community to Gallery

She founded the @artbeats_bcn community back in 2022, creating a space for the interaction between artists and musicians. In winter 2026 she attended drawing and painting course in Barcelona Academy of Arts. In 2026 she decided to open a physical store ArtBetas.Space together with her partner, to offer artworks made by ArtBeats participants and host events.
