Ella Jensen

Painter & Mural Artist, Barcelona

Spring is my main incentive to create beauty. And nature is an irreplaceable source of inspiration.

Ella History & Studio

2015–2020

Three Rooms at Once

She works in three rooms simultaneously. The first is a studio where she stretches canvases with texture and builds them layer by layer: multi-layered acrylic, oil pastel, sometimes watercolor and gouache, assembled into figures that hover on the edge of dissolving into landscape. The second is a wall in someone's house, often a child's room: she calls this period "probably my favorite form of creativity." The third is a kiln, where she throws and hand-builds sculptural ceramic vases — small experimental series in blue and white, often with removable lids that double as separate objects.

2020–2025

Folk Tales and Ceramic Experiment

Her illustrations cycle around the same imagery she paints: Nordic folk tales, animals with human features, botanical forms, mountain lakes. Ceramic vases sit between canvas and household object — finished pieces that she sometimes photographs on Barcelona's streets to see how they catch light compared to the city. She collaborates with @ceramica.belinska (Alona) on painted ceramics.

2025–2026

Gallery Recognition

At the end of 2025, she opened a solo exhibition of paintings, illustrations, and ceramics in the @hotspotdizclub space with a floral installation created by @by_tanya.co. She is actively part of Barcelona's contemporary art and craft scene.
